Bio
I am an Assistant Professor in the History Department at CIDE, in Mexico City. I hold a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from El Colegio de México and a Ph.D. in Latin American History from Columbia University in the City of New York.
Work and research
My research examines the social, political, and cultural history of modern Mexico, with a particular focus on labor, public health, and the mechanisms that have shaped access to citizenship rights.
My current book project traces the creation of Mexico’s social security system and the consolidation of a fragmented welfare state in the mid-twentieth century—an institutional framework that continues to shape access to social rights today.
